PBS Distribution (PBSD) is a leading distributor of public media content reaching global audiences through multiple platforms including PBS-branded OTT channels, digital download and streaming services, theatrical and inflight entertainment, DVD and Blu-ray sales, and international licensing.
PBS Distribution offers consumers and educators over 4,000 hours of the highest quality factual, scripted and children’s programming, extending the reach beyond broadcast while generating revenue for the public television system, stations and producers.
Challenge 1: Catalog Transfer
PBSD houses an extensive catalog with numerous content and various versions of items and needed a system that would provide for better organization and easy access.
Challenge 2: Screener Tracking
PBSD works with screeners who view or screen content to see if it is viable for their buying market. Since their previous software was limiting in functionality, PBSD needed a way to better track interactions with screeners to help the right content get to the right markets and increase sales.
Challenge 3: Sales Rep. Analytics and Connection
PBSD needed a better way to view and analyze how well sales reps are doing with different types of screeners. These reps also needed a better way to communicate and follow-up with potential sales.
The Solution: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Sales
When faced with the challenges brought to them by PBSD, the development team at JourneyTEAM decided the best solution was to implement a highly customized version of Microsoft D365 for Sales. Using D365 as a platform, JourneyTEAM was able to use Microsoft Power Automate for integrations between both new and legacy systems and the D365 app for email communications, creating a customized and personalized CRM software solution to fit the needs of the organization.

A More Efficient Catalog Organization: D365 Sales provided PBSD with seamless integration between different systems for catalog organization and classifications. Agents are now able to view and access the catalog in a more useful way, cutting down process times and promoting better recommendations to screeners.
Enhanced Screener Tracking: With the ability to create a customized and personalized D365 experience, PBSD now has a CRM software solution that revolves around the need of connecting sales reps and screeners, tracking the activity of screeners and making sure that each product finds the right markets.
