Entering a Sales Order in the Business Central Mobile App

To get started, log into the Dynamics 365 Business Central app on your mobile device. You’ll immediately be presented with a concise overview of your most important metrics, all of which are live and full synchronized with the online application.

To access the sales order feature, tap the ellipsis in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. Under New Document, select Sales Order. Next, choose the relevant customer from your customer list.

Business Central will automatically fill in the customer’s contact information for you. When you’re ready to add your line items to the sales order, swipe up from the bottom of your screen and select the plus button next to Lines. Choose the correct item(s) from the Descriptions drop down menu, enter the quantity, and then click the back arrow at the bottom of the screen to go back to the previous screen.

Posting and Sending Your Sales Order

Once you’ve added all of the line items to your sales order, it’s time to post and send it.

First, select the ellipsis at the bottom of the Sales Order screen. You’ll be presented with a list of options, including both Post as well as Post and Send. If you just want to post your order, choose Post. If you want to post the order and simultaneously send an invoice to the appropriate customer, select Post and Send.

If you choose Post and Send, you’ll be prompted to confirm that you want to send the invoice as a PDF. Next, you can choose to either ship, invoice, or ship and invoice the item. Finally, Business Central will create an email for you with the customer’s information pre-filled and the relevant invoice attached. It’s as easy as that!

Review Customer Balance via Mobile

Once you’ve sent an invoice, it’s easy to review a customer’s balance right from the Business Central mobile app.

From the Business Central app home screen, select the button with three stacked lines at the bottom left hand corner of your screen. Choose Customers, select the customer in question, and select their balance to see a list of sales orders for that customer.
