An aerospace engineering company that builds products for airports worldwide needed a new product approval documentation process. Their legacy Microsoft technology was no longer supported and was being deprecated. They were able to overcome limitations by adopting a new, user-friendly process to track their submissions and approvals in a concise location.
This large manufacturing organization sells a wide variety of products, including ground support equipment, walkways, ramps, waiting area equipment, cargo loading and towing tools, and ground and gate equipment. They needed a process that could track dates, detail information, and capture every step of the order lifecycle. They also needed a standardized product approval process for every employee in every location.
To achieve this, the company implemented a suite of Microsoft products, including Power Apps, SharePoint, and Power Automate.
Power Platform Automates Product Approval
JourneyTEAM worked closely with the company’s AeroTech division as well as company manager to identify which items needed to be included on new project forms. JourneyTEAM’s content and collaboration specialists also created an application in Power Apps that connected to the various approval documents built-in SharePoint. Power Automate was then set up to automate each step as it moves through the order life cycle. When products arrive, their serial numbers would be tracked in the corresponding order form that was previously submitted. This way, when products needed repair or replacement users could easily find and log additional information in that product’s original form.
Aerotech users now have a streamlined, more efficient process in place for submitting product orders. This puts the global manufacturer in a better position to efficiently meet the expanding needs of its airport customers.
